At work-1-rsmall.jpg Richard Harvey Was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1929 of a Native American mother and a Russian father. They produced a devote nature lover who shares his love of the great outdoors, its wildlife and his Native American culture through his paint brushes and canvas.

He is an associate member in "Oil Painters of America", and in the early 1970's was one of the original members of the "Northwest Artists" organization. In the mid 1990's, Richard became one of the original artist members of the "Academy of Western Artists" based in Gene Autry, Oklahoma.

Richard was accepted to exhibit in the “National Wildlife Show” of 1979 which featured 265 of the world finest wildlife artists. He was also awarded the First Runner Up prize in the State of Missouri’s First Duck Stamp competition.

One of Richard’s painting “On the Run” won Best of show at the Corpus Christi Art Museum,s 1983 show. The same painting also won Best of Show in the Wildlife Category. Another of his paintings, “Jetty’s End” won Best of Show in the Seascape Category.

Richard is now in his 80's and if wasn't for the arthritis, osteoporosis and a broken back, he would be in his prime!

He loves Blues music with true passion.
He still paints every day at his Harker Heights, Texas home and cares for his 28 dogs and 40 cats.

All his art classes are closed, due to he had a severe heart attack at mid last year.
He already had different type of cancer 5 times before that, pretty soon he needs going for another treatment.
